The Gesso project uses Coral limestone locally sourced from Danish quarries, where the white limestone is broken down into multiple uses. The Limestone is a precious materials – up to 65 mill years old it contains the calcium from the shell of marine animals – corals and plankton – which used to swim in the tropical sea of Denmark before the dinosaurs roamed the earth.
The Gesso project uses this unique natural material as a foundation for making useful and precious products with a high quality of craftsmanship and design – creating a sustainable alternative to traditional materials.
Jonas Edvard
Behind the design and development of the Gesso material stands Danish designer – Jonas Edvard – his work is characterized by a will to create sustainable materials and products – in order to change our way of life for the better of the planet. Jonas Edvard’s work is both holistic thinking and modern – bringing together the need for sustainable and beautiful objects with the accuracy and perfection of Danish Design.
In 2018 Jonas Edvard was asked to develop The Gesso lamp (28cm) for the newly established yet renowned Noma restaurant – showcasing his work along with the best of nordic cuisine.

Customers from outside the European Union are responsible for all duty and taxes associated with the import of purchased products. We do not ship to P.O. Boxes.

SUSTAINABILITY
We strive to run our business as eco-consciously and in as sustainable a manner as possible. For this reason, we will recycle and reuse all our packaging to keep wastage to a minimum. Where possible we will also use packaging that has strong green credentials with regards to biodegradability etc.
